BUILD DETAILS
Welding of the EN AW-5083H111 alloy using TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) and MIG (Metal Inert Gas) methods ensures high-strength joints. This is especially important for creating reliable hulls capable of withstanding extreme loads and operating conditions. The alloy is characterised by excellent weldability, allowing for the creation of monolithic, durable, and reliable structures, which is critical for safety on the water.
The use of the ENVIROX titanium passivation system creates a protective layer on aluminium hulls. This innovative approach not only reduces environmental impact by replacing chromates with eco-friendly components but also provides excellent corrosion resistance. Titanium-based components in the ENVIROX system contribute to forming a durable conversion coating that significantly extends the lifespan of the hulls.
Marine-grade polyester powder coating ensures high durability and aesthetic appeal for GALAXY boats. The advantages of powder coating include: Uniform and ultra-strong finish, UV resistance, protection against corrosion, resistance to mechanical impacts and environmentally friendly process with no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) involved.
At Galaxy, we manufacture all our tubes exclusively from Hypalon, sourced from leading global suppliers. Hypalon is the preferred choice for commercial users worldwide due to its outstanding durability, resistance to abrasion, UV degradation, and extreme temperatures. It offers superior longevity and can be easily repaired if damaged, ensuring lower lifetime costs and greater reliability. For our Pilot range, we use only Hypalon inflatable tubes. In our Trident range, Hypalon ‘D’ collars are fitted as standard using a removable luff rope track system, allowing rapid replacement on-site if required, keeping vessels operational with minimal downtime.
For enhanced crew safety, Galaxy RIBs are fitted with a rubber-coated deck surface designed for outstanding anti-slip performance. Its high rubber content and specially textured finish provide excellent grip, even in wet conditions. The material is highly resistant to wear, fuels, UV exposure, and temperature fluctuations, ensuring long-lasting durability while maintaining its original properties. By reducing the risk of slips and falls, the deck surface helps to protect crew members and ensures secure footing in demanding maritime environments.
